After Boro Kit

'After Boro' are my special edition packs which include all you need - fabrics, thread, sashiko sewing needle and instructions - to make a small 'After Boro' hanging or table mat using real Japanese vintage fabric and Japanese Sashiko thread. You will probably have some of the smaller pieces of fabric left over to make another small project.
You could consider making your finished work into a bag similar the one shown here. I hand stitched the 'After Boro' on the plane on my way to Japan in January 2020, bought a shoulder strap and lining fabric for it at the quilt show and completed it one evening to use the next day!
It proved useful to hold my phone and a little purse when I was giving a televised talk about my work during the show. For some other ideas it could be made into a table mat, cushion cover, a small wall hanging or even part of a larger project!
N. B. As the foundation fabric in these special edition kits is vintage Japanese Indigo cotton, it may even have little holes you can repair yourself as part of your 'After Boro' as well as using the other fabrics in the kit!
Foundation Fabric - As each kit is unique and is made up specifically when you have ordered. Therefore, some of the fabrics may vary from those shown in the image. Occasionally I may have to substitute the vintage foundation fabric (depending on availability from Japan) but it will always be genuine Japanese fabric.
