City & Guilds Patchwork and Quilting Classes

  • Have you reached the crossroads with your quilting skills?

You can do all of this and more by studying for a City & Guilds qualification in Patchwork and Quilting with Janice Gunner.

Plus: if you've already achieved your Level 3 Certificate, you can now study with Janice for your Level 3 Diploma.

London Classes

City & Guilds 7716-62 Certificate in Patchwork and Quilting

  • Start date: Wednesday, 27 September 2017
  • Location: Peterhouse Centre, Walthamstow
  • Class time: 6 sessions per term, 18 per academic year, approximately, at fortnightly intervals. 9.30 am - 1.30 pm.

Note: You will be joining a group of students who are part way through this course.

City & Guilds 7716-68 Diploma in Patchwork and Quilting

  • Start date: Tuesday, 26 September 2017
  • Location: Peterhouse Centre, Walthamstow
  • Class time: 6 sessions per term, 18 per academic year, approximately, at fortnightly intervals. 9.30 am - 3.30 pm.

Note: you will be joining a group of students who are part way through this course.

Places limited to 12 students only.

To study the course, you must have already completed - or be near completing - a City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate. During the two years of the course you will extend the skills learned at certificate level, make experimental samples, a miniature quilt, a 3D item and a large quilt or wall hanging. You will also explore a research theme, a historical study including the work of four contemporary/art quilters and explore some mathematical sequences including the Fibonacci sequence, tessellations and more!

Surrey Classes

City & Guilds 7716-68 Diploma in Patchwork and Quilting

  • Start date: Thursday, 19 October 2017
  • Location: Bletchworth Village Hall, Bletchworth, Surrey
  • Class time: 8 sessions per year for 2 years, 16 sessions in total. 10 am - 4 pm.

Places limited to 12 students only.

To study the course, you must have already completed - or be near completing - a City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate. As with all classes I teach, my main aim is this: quality tuition that leads participants to a sense of achievement - with plenty of fun and enjoyment along the way.

Class fees vary according to level of study, City & Guilds registration fees, course structure and travel distance involved.

About your tutor Janice Gunner: teaching experience and enthusiasm

I am a freelance textile artist, quilter and qualified teacher with 20 years experience of teaching Patchwork & Quilting at a variety of levels including City & Guilds to Diploma level.

I am now registered as a City & Guilds Micro Tuition Centre to teach Design & Craft Courses in Patchwork & Quilting at level 2 (7822-10), level 3 certificate (7922-03) and level 3 diploma (7923-04). See below for details.

I am a tutor at the world renowned West Dean College.

My work is exhibited nationally and internationally as a solo artist and also as a member of several quilt and textile groups.
